Tom Barritt
is founder of T.W. Barritt Communications, a firm specializing in public speaking and media training consulting. He is a veteran communications training instructor, with more than three decades of experience preparing CEOs, C-Suite executives and content experts for media interviews and public speaking opportunities. An author, journalist and Shakespeare aficionado, Tom believes that storytelling is both strategic and deeply personal, and that carefully crafted stories are the currency that connects us all.
Tom has coached top executives and spokespeople for numerous corporations and associations including Dunkin’ Brands, Procter & Gamble, Zoetis, MasterCard, IBM, Wendy’s, E*Trade, Pepsico, Takeda, Pfizer, National Geographic Society, Michelin, IKEA, Best Buy, Waterford, Pernod Ricard, Time Warner, Hello Fresh, the Food Network and more. Tom has prepared clients for significant interviews with major news outlets, including CBS, NBC, ABC, Bloomberg, Fox Business News, Cheddar TV and CNBC, as well as print interviews and satellite media tours.
During his career, Tom led the communications training team at Ketchum for more than 15 years and previously was a member of the training team at Burson-Marsteller. While at Burson, he helped shape an award-winning consumer education campaign for the American Dental Association and prepared a cadre of dentists to address national media on issues of safety in the dental office. He began his career as a news writer at WPIX-TV News.
Tom has published numerous articles on local food artisans and is the author of the book “Long Island Food: A History from Family Farms & Oysters to Craft Spirits” published in 2015.
